josh senning

Josh came to the Moorings in 2017 and took on the role of the marina’s Dockmaster. After graduating from St. Lawrence University, Josh spent the next 14 years at Tahoe Sailing Supply and Obexers Marina on Lake Tahoe where he served as a rigging specialist and all-around marina guy. Josh’s extensive experience in the marina industry and easy-going personality have quickly made him a point of contact for many boaters in Malletts Bay. Always at the hub of the activity, Josh is the bridge between understanding the boaters needs and fulfilling their requests. In his free time, Josh likes to spend as much time as he can at the helm of his 32’ Ericson sailing around the lake or even better yet skiing the backwoods of Vermont and the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Spending time in New England and Florida while growing up, Sean was exposed to boating at an early age. He spent as much time as he could sailing, water skiing, fishing and scuba diving with his family. His love for boating and the water naturally led him to a career in the marine industry. While studying Engineering and Resource Management at West Virginia University, he worked at Lighthouse Marina and Blosser’s Marina on Cheat Lake, WV throughout his college years. After graduating college, Sean accepted a position at Tierra Verde Resort Marina on the west coast of Florida where he quickly worked his way into the role of General Manager. After several years of baking in the hot Florida sun, he decided to take a job as a sales engineer with Freeman Marine Equipment in Gold Beach, Oregon. While managing a territory that stretched from the Chesapeake Bay to the Gulf of Mexico, Sean traveled all over the United States and internationally representing Freeman Marine within both the commercial and large yacht markets of the marine industry. After several years of constant work travel, he wanted to get back into marina work and joined The Moorings Marina in 2002. While overseeing all the day to day operations of the marina, Sean works hard to keep the customers happy, the docks full, and every aspect of the marina operating efficiently.


Along with having a USCG Masters License he has been a Raymarine Electronics Certified Installer since 2006. Always interested in electronics he thoroughly enjoys laying out and installing marine navigational systems. After over 25 years in the marine industry he still enjoys working on the water and around boats every day. When not at work, Sean enjoys skiing, snowmobiling, scuba diving, and watching his daughters play soccer and hockey. Sean lives in Burlington with his wife Pam, their two girls and Dozer their golden retriever.

Tammy was born and raised in Jericho, VT, and now calls Colchester home. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Trinity College and has come to find a passion for bookkeeping. Over the years, Tammy has assisted several local family-owned companies with logistics, growth, organization, and people management. She joined the Moorings Marina in Fall of 2017. Tammy has a great love of the outdoors and a passion for always learning new things and meeting new people.

Chris Downing

Chris grew up sailing in Iowa aboard his family’s Hunter 27 on Lake Superior, Sailorville Lake, Red Rock Lake, Rathbun Lake, and Lake Michigan. By age 5 Chris was solo sailing a Dher Dow. At age 11 in Miami, watching marina workers step their mast, Chris told his dad, “I want to do that.” Chris and his family then sailed through the Florida Keys for the next two months eventually ending their trip in Lake Champlain. Chris’ first job in the marina industry began at Shelburne Shipyard where he worked before coming to The Moorings Marina in 1996. Since his start, Chris has worked in almost every aspect of the marina environment. He has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of marine service ranging from hauling, launching, rigging, plumbing, marine wiring, systems installations, and pretty much any other service dimension of yachting. Over the years he has specialized in significant keel repair, structural fiberglass repair, gel coat repair, engine re-powers, and sail furling systems. His favorites jobs are complex Raymarine Electronics installations and any sailboat rigging. Chris is a respected and accomplished sailor, having competed in many regattas over the years. Just some of his racing achievements include winning his division aboard a J120 at the famous Key West Race Week in Florida and winning the fall series at The American Yacht Club on Long Island Sound. Currently, Chris and his family race aboard an Etchells named Lady Falcon out of the LCYC fleet in Shelburne Bay.

Chris is happily married to Hillary Downing (owner of High Country Hair Design). They have two kids together. Brooke and Parker, who like their Dad, spend their summers sailing on Malletts Bay and all over New England. During the offseason, Chris is on the mountains coaching ski racing at Mad River Glen. When not on the slopes you can find him helping people get out and enjoy the snow as a Certified Master Boot Fitter and race tuner at Mountainside Ski Service. Chris takes great pride in assisting people to enjoy the lake and wants to see all those dreams of water adventures come true.
